LISBON — A Lisbon man who threw a bodily substance at a police officer was sentenced to jail time during a hearing Friday in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.

David Gasior, 48, North Beaver Street, was sentenced to 270 days in jail, with 135 days suspended, for harassment with a bodily substance, a fifth-degree felony. On March 25, 2021, Gasior attempted to expose a law enforcement officer, Dennis (Rob) Smith, to a bodily substance by throwing or expelling the bodily substance at him.

Ashley Sekely, 39, Union Street, Washingtonville, was placed on three years of community control after pleading guilty to forgery, petty theft and passing bad checks, all felonies related to taking a check belonging to Glenda Knight and forging it for $200 on March 29, 2021.

Kacey Marie Conner, 35, Dillonvale, was placed on probation for three years and ordered to make restitution of $8,868 at a rate of $100 per month for illegal use of supplemental nutritional assistance program benefits or WIC program benefits from Aug. 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2020.

Allen R. Lease, Jr., 50, Irondale, pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle under the influence, a fourth-degree felony. The charge stemmed from a traffic stop in November 2019 and was a felony due to his previous three OVI convictions within the past 10 years. Sentencing was set for Aug. 19.

Bethany K. Devine, 30, High Street, Leetonia, pleaded guilty to complicity in the commission of an offense, a fifth-degree felony, for acting as surveillance as her accomplice stole the license plate off of a vehicle on June 27, 2021. Sentencing was set for Aug. 12.

Rhoda Monigold, 60, Haiti Road, Salineville, had the case against her for receiving stolen property, forgery, passing bad checks and petty theft dismissed.

EAST LIVERPOOL — Dean A. Leisure of St. George Street appeared in court and pleaded no contest to littering/depositing garbage and storage of furniture. He was fined $600 total with $550 suspended on the condition he removes ivy from the exterior and the gutter is repaired in less than 30 days.

Travis J. White of Cannonsmill Road for driving under suspension. He must appear in court and there is no waiver.

Wesley G. C. Nadig of Francis Drive in Georgetown for failure to control. His waiver is $207.

Cody R. Moncref of South Chestnut Street in New Cumberland, WV for fictitious license plates. The judge issued a bench warrant and bond is set at $5,000 with 10 percent only.

Brandon A. Hoschar of Lincoln Avenue for possessing drug instruments. The judge issued a bench warrant. Bond is set at $5,000 at 10 percent only.

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary hearing was set June 13 for Andrew Busby, 21, New Castle, Pa., charged with a third-degree felony of compelling prostitution and fifth-degree felony of importuning.

Busby allegedly arranged to meet in Salem with a Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force undercover agent he believed to be a 15-year-old girl for requested sexual conduct in exchange for $100.

A pretrial was set June 13 for Andrew St. Clare McFarlane III, 38, Youngstown, charged with violation of a protection order. Bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety and he was ordered to have no contact with the victim. McFarlane allegedly was in the presence of a protected person, who was a passenger in his vehicle, during a traffic stop in Columbiana on June 4.

A pretrial was set Aug. 18 for Diana Barringer, 57, Kent, charged with telecommunications harassment for allegedly harassing her grandchildren and daughter by contacting them on May 12 in Lisbon after being told on multiple occasions to stop contacting them.

Antonio DeLeon, 28, state Route 14, Columbiana, was fined $400 for disorderly conduct, amended from obstruction of official business, and reckless operation, amended from operating a vehicle under the influence. The disorderly conduct charge stemmed from DeLeon continuing to argue and interfere with Columbiana police officers and dispatchers after calling and then showing up at the station in March regarding how to get his property after the filing of a protection order.

Patrick Texter, 71, Parker, Pa., was fined $750, ordered to forfeit $80 to the East Palestine Police Department and ordered to complete an online prostitution prevention course for charges of engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He arranged to meet with a Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force undercover agent in East Palestine for sexual conduct in exchange for $80.

George Poeta, 49, New Castle, Pa., was fined $750 and ordered to complete 20 hours community service for engaging in prostitution and possession criminal tools for arranging to meet a Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force undercover agent in East Palestine for sexual conduct in exchange for $100.

An Aug. 11 pretrial was set for Jason C. Nelson, 41, Akron, charged with engaging in prostitution, possession of criminal tools, and drug paraphernalia. He allegedly requested sexual conduct for $20 and methamphetamine. When arrested, he allegedly had more than five grams of methamphetamine, $13 in cash, and four meth pipes in his possession.

Dakota J. Mahon, 28, West Washington Street, Lisbon, pleaded guilty to theft and was fined $200 and ordered to complete 20 hours community service for failing to ship a steering column to a customer who had already paid for the part.

Joseph J. Schratt, Jr., 49, Cleveland Street, Salem, was fined $550 for disorderly conduct, amended from engaging in prostitution, and a charge of possession of criminal tools, ordered to forfeit $100 to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force and ordered to complete an online preventing prostitution course. Schratt responded to an ad posted on a website known to be used for the solicitation of prostitution. Schratt reportedly agreed to pay $100 for sexual acts and arrived at a pre-determined meeting location in Salem, where he was detained by agents and transported to the Salem Police Department.

Douglas Freed, 41, Hadley Road, East Palestine, was fined $650 and received credit for day served in jail for drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct, obstructing official business, and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle. He had a glass container full of a controlled substance in his car, which was found during a domestic dispute at his home. In a separate case, he was argumentative during a traffic stop and concealed an open bottle of alcohol in the car during the stop.

Andrew Yanssens, 21, Terra Verde Avenue, Columbiana, was fined $150 for having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle.

A July 19 pretrial was set for Kandyce L. Florie, 27, Sue Drive, Lisbon, cited with criminal trespassing. She allegedly entered a man’s residence and locked the door, forcing him to kick it down to remove her from the house.

A July 19 pretrial was set for Raeshawn D. Erwin, 25, Waddell Street, Leetonia, cited with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle after reportedly having a rifle fully loaded and ready to fire in the passenger seat of his car.

Kathleen M. Glenn, 33, Old Route 344, Leetonia, was fined $60 for driving under suspension and speeding.

Ashley B. Croley, 36, Youngstown, was fined $550, sentenced to five days in jail, and ordered to complete 20 hours community service for two counts of theft and one count of drug paraphernalia. Charges of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension were dismissed. She had a glass pipe with a crystal-like substance inside, took candy from a gas station without paying for it from Smith Oil in Lisbon, and pretended to scan items cheaper than she bought, resulting in a theft of $123.13 in merchandise from Salem Walmart.

Deanna Moschella, 42, Vine Street, Salem, pleaded no contest and was found guilty of receiving stolen property, with sentencing set June 27, for having stolen items belonging to Dustin Deffenbaugh in her room in Salem on June 2.

A pretrial was set July 25 for Daniel Blough, 26, Homewood Avenue, Salem, charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly being intoxicated in the Salem police department lobby, refusing to call for a ride and saying he was walking home, but then couldn’t and told police to arrest him, which they did.

Kenneth Johnson, 58, Orlando, Fla., was fined $1,115, sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days for a driving intervention program, and had his license suspended for a year for operating a vehicle under the influence, turn signals, possession of marijuana and open container.

A pretrial was set Aug. 15 for Christian Eva, 20, West Wilson Street, Salem, charged with underage consumption.

A pretrial was set Aug. 16 for Jacob Strader, 23, McCracken Road, Salem, charged with driving under suspension and speeding.

Vigieo Wilson, 34, Canton, was fined $100 for no fishing license.

Tajuan Coleman, 27, Youngstown, was fined $250 for no temporary permit.
